Convict Kamo Papyan in Armenia stooped hunger strike

Convict of “Sevan” penal facility Kamo Papyan who earlier sewed up his mouth suspended his hunger strike on January, 16, the Ministry of Justice of Armenia reported.
 
Papyan demanded a meeting with Russian Ambassador in Armenia Viacheslav Kovalenko, Chief of the Police of Armenia Vladimir Gasparyan and press photographer Gagik Shamshyan.
 
Shaliko Manucharyan kept in custody in “Vanadzor” penal colony who also sewed up his mouth is still on a hunger strike, Press Secretary of the Ministry of Justice Karine Kalantaryan reported. In this way he expresses his protest against the process of investigation.
 
According to Gor Glechyan acting as Head of Public relations unit of Penal enforcement department of the Ministry of Justice of Armenia, the medical board confirmed that Kamo Papyan was ill with schizophrenia.
 
“He could demand meeting with anyone else instead of Viacheslav Kovalenko. It is just his mental state”, Gor Glechyan assured. According to him, Kamo Papyan was detained on January, 24, 2007, for murder and sentenced to 12 years of custody.
