The team of participants of a hunger strike in Abasha, Georgia, changed

After two women who participated in a political hunger strike in Abasha were hospitalized in connection with renal dysfunction representatives of the “Georgian Dream” party in Abasha district decided to change the team of strikers.

The hunger strike in Abasha started on January, 8, the day of election of Head of regional Administration. Women activists of the “Georgian Dream” coalition Djareijan Pirtkhalaishvili, Anna Tsotsoria, Mzia Bokuchava, Dodo Sigua and Marina Kutelia demanded resignation of the official elected. They also demanded to discharge Head of local Council of People’s Representatives (Sakrebulo).

“At night of January, 14, two women holding a hunger strike in the building of Sakrebulo, Pirtkhalaishvili and Bokuchava, felt very bad and were taken to hospital”, Rukhadze said to the “Caucasian Knot” correspondent.

In the municipal hospital of Abasha both women were given dropping tubes with glucose and prescribed reinforced drinking. In the morning of January, 15, both patients left the hospital.

On January, 14, four men, Kote Kacharava, Nugzar Dartsmelidze, Temur Gabelaya and Anzor Barkabadze, replaced the women who were on a hunger strike. However, on the second day of the hunger strike, January, 15, Kote Kacharava aged 35 felt bad.  

“My state declined and I collapsed. The ambulance arrived, I was given some injection and then I joined my comrades again”, Kote Kacharava said to the “Caucasian Knot” correspondent.
