Tatiev, head of organizing committee of congress of Ingush people put in custody until August 6

The court of the city of Magas has ruled to put Iles Tatiev behind bars until August 6 inclusive.

Iles Tatiev was detained on June 7 on suspicion of embezzling 20 million roubles from the "Rosselkhozbank". A criminal case against Tatiev was opened by the investigating division of the Investigating Department of the Russian MIA for Ingushetia; two days earlier – on June 5 – he was put on the wanted list. Tatiev was convoyed from Moscow to Ingushetia.

On June 9, a judge of the Magas district court considered the petition of the investigation on putting Tatiev in custody. The investigator motivated his petition by the fact that the crime, of which Tatiev is suspected, belongs to the category of grave crimes, the punishment for which may reach ten years in prison.

During the court session, the investigator said that there are grounds to believe that Tatiev, if being at large, can escape, to try to influence the witnesses or otherwise obstruct the search of the truth.

Iles Tatiev and his lawyer Zima Sautieva asked the court to dismiss the investigator's petition and put him under recognizance not to leave. The court upheld the petition, a source from the Security Council of Ingushetia told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

So far, there are no comments of Iles Tatiev and his lawyer in the context of the court ruling.
