NAC: militants killed in Kabardino-Balkaria were going to commit terror acts on Christmas

Three suspected militants killed in Kabardino-Balkaria on January 6 prepared to commit terror acts on Christmas in the churches of the republic. This was reported by the Information Centre of the National Antiterrorism Committee (NAC).

On January 6, three suspected militants were killed in the Baksan District of Kabardino-Balkaria. They rendered armed resistance to power agents. During the operation, none of the law enforcement agents and local residents was injured.

According to the NAC's information, the explosions could occur "in the temples of Kabardino-Balkaria during crowded holiday divine services to be held on January 6-8".

This information was confirmed by the Operative headquarters of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (KBR). According to their information, the terror acts could also be committed in the temples of the Stavropol Territory, the RIA "Novosti" reports.

Till present, the suspected killed militants have not been identified. The investigation team is working at the place of the incident, the website "Kabardino-Balkaria. Mir i My" (Kabardino-Balkaria, World and We) reports.
