In Georgia, Prosecutors' Office frees Irakli Okruashvili of four charges

The Chief Prosecutor's Office of Georgia stops the prosecution of Irakli Okruashvili for all of the four episodes of criminal proceedings earlier filed against him.

The Chief Prosecutor's Office stops all earlier filed charges against Irakli Okruashvili of negligence, abuse of power and in the case of unlawful acquisition of shares in the company "GeoCell". This was reported today by Teimuraz Mikaberidze, the representative of the Prosecutor's Office.

According to his information, the witnesses refused earlier given testimonies. "They stated that they gave their testimonies under the pressure of the previous government," the "Interfax" quotes Teimuraz Mikaberidze as saying.

According to the request of the Chief Prosecutor's Office, on January 10, the court of appeal should pronounce the acquittal in the case of the company "GeoCell", the "Trend" reports.
