Power of the bomb, detonated at "AS" store in Makhachkala, was 200 grams of TNT
As reported by a source from law enforcement bodies, the power of the explosive device, triggered in the capital of Dagestan at the entrance to the computer store "AS", was 200 grams of TNT (trotyl) equivalent; the reason of the act could be in an economic dispute.
The explosion was triggered in Makhachkala in the evening on June 12 at No. 16 Gamzatov Street, where the computer store "AS" is located.
"All the motives, including the economic competition, of the explosion are studied," said the source as quoted by the International TV and Radio Company "Mir".
The owner of the store – the "AS" сompany – is one of the largest Dagestani dealer of computers, components, office equipment and air conditioners. Sefer Aliev, the current Minister of Telecommunications of Dagestan, in 1997-2007 was the director general of the company, prior he went in for politics.
Immediately after the incident, a law enforcer told that the bomb could be planted by members of illegal armed formations (IAFs), but so far, this information has not been confirmed.
