Rostov Region: case against employee of FSIN Department accused of beating prisoner brought to court

The investigation into the case against Alexei Budik, former staff member of the penal colony IK-1 accused of beating a prisoner has been completed. The criminal case with the approved indictment was brought to the court. This was reported by the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) for the Rostov Region.

A prisoner of the penal colony IK-1 claimed being beaten by a staff member of the penal colony in May 2012. According to the story of the victim, who is serving his sentence for committing a road traffic accident, the incident occurred on February 3, 2012, at the office of the staff members of the Department of the Russian Federal Correction Service (known as FSIN).

Investigators revealed that Alexei Budik struck convicted the prisoners with the fist in the face because of experienced personal animosity. As a result of the blow, the upper eyelid of the prisoner's left eye got a bruise. This was reported by the website of the Regional Investigating Department of the ICRF.

As a result of the inspection, Alexei Budik was dismissed from the penal colony IK-1. In the nearest future, he will be brought to justice.
