Makhachkala court rules to arrest Sabina Sheikhmuradova for two months

The detained resident of Makhachkala Sabina Sheikhmuradova, in whose house a "suicide belt" was found during a search, on June 14 was arrested by the court for a period of two months, Gadjimurad Izmailov, a lawyer from the Bar "Kavkaz" told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

Let us remind you that on June 11, the Russian National Antiterrorist Committee (NAC) reported that two terror acts had been prevented in Dagestan. According to the NAC, two "suicide belts" were neutralized in Makhachkala and Kaspiisk, in the houses inhabited by Sabina Sheikhmuradova and Sultanat Krymova, allegedly engaged in psychological treatment of women for their involvement in terrorist activities.

According to Izmailov, the Makhachkala court decided to arrest Sheikhmuradova for two months, with the condition that she will see the formal charges against her within 30 days.

According to the lawyer, if during this time no official charges are presented to Sabina Sheikhmuradova, she would be released – "this is stated by the decision of the court."

So far, as Mr Izmailov has noted, Sheikhmuradova is suspected under two articles of the Russian Criminal Code: Article 222 (illegal possession of firearms) and Article 223 (illegal manufacture of explosives).
