A convict in Dagestan reports pressure from the personnel of the investigative isolation ward in connection with murder of judge Magomedov

Shuaibgadji Magomedov convicted for accusation of committing a number of crimes in Kizlyar district whose case was considered by judge of the Supreme Court of Dagestan Magomed Magomedov killed on January, 15, reports pressure brought on him by the personnel of the IIW after murder of the judge on January, 15.

One of the last cases considered by Magomed Magomedov was a case concerning residents of Dagestan Ramazan Magomedov, Shuaibgadji Magomedov and Abdulzhapar Labazangadjiev accused of participation in a paramilitary group and illegal traffic of arms. On December, 18, 2012, they were sentenced to 8 to 10 years of custody. The defendants stated that they evidenced under torture.

“The next day after the judge’s murder Magomedov was moved to a special prison unit. According to the information available, Abdulzhapar Labazangadjiev and Ramazan Magomedov were moved there, too. Representatives of the investigative bodies who implicitly accused them of involvement in the judge’s murder started visiting them”, Sapiyat Magomedova said to the “Caucasian Knot” correspondent.

Shuaibgadji Magomedov made an official statement in which he expressed condolence to Magomed Magomedov’s family and friends and also declared his non-participation in this and other crimes.

The “Caucasian Knot” has yet no comment from the investigative bodies concerning the convict’s statements or his attorney’s ones.
