Abkhazia and South Ossetia say UN General Assembly Resolution politicized

Official Sukhumi and Tskhinvali say that the UN General Assembly Resolution on the situation in Abkhazia and South Ossetia passed on June 13 is unilateral and politically engaged.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Abkhazia called the document “engaged and entirely politicized”, the “Caucasian Knot” correspondent reports.

“This is already the sixth resolution annually offered by Georgia and its content remains practically invariable”, a comment issued on June, 14, by Press Service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Abkhazia runs.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of South Ossetia also declared that the resolutions adopted by the UN on Abkhazia and South Ossetia manifested an unilateral and politically engaged approach having nothing in common with the real situation and concern about the refugees’ fate.

“South Ossetia and Abkhazia are defined as parts of Georgia in the text of the Resolution adopted at the 67th plenary session of the UN General Assembly which is just the main point of discrepancy with the reality”, the Ministry states.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, in its turn, is positive about the fact that this year two more states joined the supporters of the Georgian project and thanked the countries who supported the document.
