Kotiev: in Ingushetia, Mussa Polonkoev left the ranks of militants and returned to civilian life
Mussa Polonkoev, 21, resident of Ingushetia, has returned to peaceful life after two years with militants, said Akhmed Kotiev, the Secretary of the Security Council of Ingushetia and a deputy chairman of the local Adaptation Commission.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on October 20, 2012, Yunus-Bek Evkurov called on the members of the armed underground to surrender, promising that "everyone who comes in peace and surrenders will have all the facilities and their rights protected."
The information that Mussa Polonkoev had surrendered appeared on June 14 in the blog of the head of Ingushetia Yunus-Bek Evkurov.
"A few days ago, a member of an illegal armed formation (IAF), who had been wanted for two years, surrendered – Mussa Polonkoev, a young man, born in 1992, who had fallen under the influence of the so-called 'ideologists', decided to call the number that I gave earlier in my appeal to the militants posted on this blog," wrote the head of the republic.
At the ROVD (District Interior Division), Mussa Polonkoev's surrender was documented; his search was stopped; and a criminal case against him will not be opened, said Akhmed Kotiev.
Mussa Polonkoev is the forty-fifth man, who voluntarily surrendered to the authorities under the guarantees of the authorities of Ingushetia, said Kotiev.
