Seifudin Babaev’s relatives in Dagestan reported pressure from law enforcement agents
Relatives of resident of Dagestan Seifudin Babaev who was found dead in his exploded car insist that he was killed and report pressure from law enforcement officials.
The car exploded on June 14, on the way from Derbent to the settlement of Khuchni, Derbent district of Dagestan. The man in the car died on-site, the Ministry of Interior Affairs reported. The dead man was identified as Seifudin Babaev born in 1968.
The day before resident of the town of Dagestanskie Ogni Aida Gafarova reported that her husband Seifudin Babaev was kidnapped in Derbent by unidentified masked people wearing civilian attire.
Since the beginning of the year Seifudin Babaev’s family had regularly undergone pressure from power-wielding structures, one of the Babaevs’ relatives told the “Caucasian Knot” correspondent on the condition of anonymity. “The reason is that Seifudin is an active follower of Salafist movement”, he claims.
According to him, the policemen are considering a version of an incidental blasting of the car transporting an explosive device.
“This version is advantageous for the police as they don’t have to investigate into the murder of the man kidnapped the day before the explosion”, our interlocutor thinks.
