Ozdoev: Iles Tatiev's custody conditions in Karabulak SIZO are acceptable
Iles Tatiev, the head of the organizing committee of the congress of the Ingush people, has no complaints about his custody conditions at the SIZO (pre-trial prison) of the Karabulak ROVD (District Interior Division), where he was transferred from the IVS (temporary detention facility) of Malgobek. This was stated by Djambulat Ozdoev, the Ombudsman under the head of the Republic of Ingushetia. The reason for the check was in the information that Iles Tatiev was on a hunger strike.
"By the moment of our visit, Iles Tatiev stopped his hunger strike, because his main demand was fulfilled – he was transferred to the SIZO of the Karabulak ROVD," Djambulat Ozdoev told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
According to his story, during the meeting Iles Tatiev said that he was satisfied with his current custody conditions. However, he complained to Djambulat Ozdoev about the conditions of the Malgobek IVS, where he was kept before his transfer to Karabulak. Tatiev, according to his story, was kept in a stone cell in the basement, where there were no windows and no ventilation.
Iles Tatiev still believes that he was detained for no reason, the Ombudsman has noted.
On June 25, the Magas City Court of the Republic of Ingushetia will consider an application of the defence asking to change Iles Tatiev's custody for recognizance not to leave, Zima Sautieva, his advocate, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
