Needy Tskhinvali residents capture flats in new house
The residents of Tskhinvali, who need improvement of their housing conditions, have arbitrarily moved into the flats of a new two-storey house. Under the instruction of the authorities of South Ossetia, law enforcement bodies are investigating the incident.
In total, in March 2013, five families moved into the 10-apartment house; they began equipping their flats. According to the tenants, earlier a city canteen was in the place of the new house. The house belongs to the state, not private owners, the tenants believe.
The house is not on the balance-sheet of the administration of Tskhinvali; and the issue of the squatting is considered by law enforcers, the Mayor of Tskhinvali Alan Alborov told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
The flats of the new house have no owners; they were intended for the categories of needy and large families.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in March the townspeople in need of better living conditions arbitrarily moved into the flats in the so-called "Jewish District" of Tskhinvali. Then, the President of the Republic Leonid Tibilov stressed that new flats should be distributed according to the priority list compiled by the city Mayoralty.
