GUVD: no illegal actions of policemen against builder Demerchyan revealed in Sochi
The GUVD (Chief Interior Department) of the Krasnodar Territory has conducted a check of Sochi policemen's actions under the claim that the builder Mardiros Demerchyan was beaten, and revealed no illegal actions. The police were too hasty to assess the actions of its employees, the advocate of the builder said in his turn.
Let us remind you that on June 12 the builder Mardiros Demerchyan was detained by policemen; and on June 13 he was brought from the police department of the township of Blinovo to the neurosurgical ward of City Hospital No. 4. In his interview to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent, Demerchyan said that he had been tortured by the police.
In the course of the check, other administrative detainees, who were together with the builder on June 12 at the police station, were questioned. They explained that he did not complain of any physical abuse by policemen. Besides, the health care workers, who had examined Demerchyan, were interrogated, under whose conclusion there were no traces of physical affection on his body, the statement of the GUVD of the Territory says.
The materials of the service check were sent to the ICRF.
The medical certificate of the outpatient of the Medical Centre "Uro-Pro" of June 15, 2013, where M. Demerchyan had addressed for help, indicates the diagnosis of "a damage of the rectum and anal fissures."
According to the lawyer, the practice of torture used by the police is not a single episode in Adler. He added that he is ready to provide proofs of systematic torture at obtaining confessions at the police.
