After declaring bankruptcy, "Armavia" has not paid salary debts
On Friday, former employees of the "Armavia" Airlines, which had declared its bankruptcy, came again to the building of the Government of Armenia. About thirty persons demanded help in addressing their problem.
Let us remind you that on May 29 employees of the National Carrier "Armavia" organized a protest in front of the presidential residence in Yerevan, demanding help in receiving their salary depts. On June 18, they resumed their protest, saying that the promised payment of debts (about 2300 US dollars per employee) never began.
Today, Alexander Kazaryan, the head of the Department for Receiving Citizens and Considering Applications of the Government of Armenia, went out to meet the protesters. He said that the Government cannot help them, because it is itself a victim. According to Kazaryan, the "Armavia" has debts also before the Cabinet of Ministers.
Kazaryan advised the audience to go to court against the "Armavia" Airlines, which had assured that the payment of the debts would begin on June 7.
Twenty former pilots of "Armavia" are going to receive their debts through the court. The first court hearing on the case will take place on July 3.
