The Ministry of Interior Affairs of Dagestan: a man who assaulted on policemen in Khasavyurt district escaped in a local resident’s car

An unidentified person who fired upon a police “UAZ” in Khasavyurt district of Dagestan left the scene of the incident in a car belonging to a resident of the settlement of Novoselskoye, law enforcement bodies of the republic report.

The incident happened in the evening of January, 21, near the turning to the settlement of Aksai. The stranger opened fire at the service car of the Ministry of Interior Affairs from a self-firer. A sergeant major who was in the car died from wounding. His colleague, sergeant major, got wounded in his arm and was hospitalized. His life is now out of danger.

After assault at the policemen the criminal took hold of a “VAZ-2106” car passing by belonging to a resident of the settlement of Novoselskoye and threatening him with arms escaped from the scene of the incident, law enforcement officers state. Later the car and the driver were found in the suburbs of the settlement of Oktiabrskoye. The man was delivered to the Ministry of Interior Affairs of Dagestan for evidence.
