Attorneys of the defendants on the case of terror in “Domodedovo” airport appealed against prolongation of the term of their arrest

Today the attorneys of the defendants on the case of the terrorist act committed in “Domodedovo” airport in January of 2011 appealed against prolongation of the term of keeping their clients in custody for three months.

Residents of Ingushetia brothers Ilez and Islam Yandiev, Bashir Khamhoev and Ahmed Evloev are in the dock. Since October, 2, 2012, trial in Moscow regional court has been going in an open regime. The defendants’ attorneys declared that their clients did not acknowledge their guilt.

Earlier, the “Caucasian Knot” reported that on January, 15, the Panel of judges of Moscow regional court refused to release all the four defendants on the case from custody. The court prolonged all the defendants’ custody term till April, 30.

Lawyer Tatiana Okushko told the “Caucasian Knot” correspondent that she appealed against the judgment of Moscow regional court that granted the motion of state prosecution accepting the reasoning of Public Prosecutor’s office that the trial on the case was going on while the defendants’ guilt or innocence was not yet established.

Okushko pointed out in her appeal that the only fact of gravity of the charge could not be a sufficient argument for keeping the defendants whose guilt was not yet proven in custody.
