The drivers of minibuses in Tbilisi suspended work because of a strike

The drivers of minibuses in Tbilisi decided to suspend transportation causing problems with passenger traffic for the transport network in the capital of Georgia.

It should be reminded that during an action of protest in Tbilisi on January, 25, the drivers of minibuses demanded to cancel their sole proprietor status, improve their labour conditions and reduce their daily plan.

Today the protest action of minibus drivers was continued. Not a single minibus came out of the motor car parks which had a negative impact on the work of the buses and metro that could not manage passenger traffic rising sharply, “Interfax” reports.

Mayor’s office of Tbilisi, in its turn, considers that the reason for the action was a conflict between the drivers and their employer, “Tbilisi minibus” company.

Mayor’s office called for the parties to start negotiation, “Novosti-Georgia” reports.
