The court in Vladikavkaz prolonged custody term to physician Gunashev of Makhachkala municipal hospital

On January, 25, the court in Vladikavkaz prolonged anaesthetist Marat Gunashev’s custody term till April, 27, the detainee’s attorney Zaur Magomedov informed.

Earlier, the “Caucasian Knot” reported that physician of Makhachkala municipal hospital No 2 Marat Gunashev and his colleague Shamil Gasanov were detained on January, 29, 2012, for suspicion of murder of Chief of the Department of Interior Affairs of Makhachkala Ahmed Magomedov and involvement in armed underground. Gasanov was killed during search in his house when according to the police, he put up armed resistance. Gunashev was arrested. He denies his involvement in the murder of Chief of the Department of Interior Affairs of Makhachkala.

“The court granted the demand of Committee of Inquiry of prolongation physician Marat Gunashev’s custody term till April, 27. The court did not  take into consideration a statement that Marat was detained unlawfully, then taken away from Dagestan and at that moment kept in Vladikavkaz which was not the place where the crime was committed”, Gunashev’s attorney said to the “Caucasian Knot” correspondent.

The defendant’s attorney and relatives consider the judgment unlawful and are going to appeal against it to a higher court within three days.
