In Georgia, three defendants accused under case on hides in Samegrelo refuse to plead guilty
Koba Todua, Irakli Akhalaya and Ruslan Shamakhiya, accused on the case of acts of torture, recorded on the videos found in the hides in Samegrelo (Western Georgia), reject the charges, their advocates assert.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that after the detection of the hides in Samegrelo that kept weapons, drugs and videos of acts of torture and rape of detainees, the police arrested nine persons. They are accused of torture and illegal detentions. On June 21, the court arrested all the detainees.
Irakli Narmaniya, Koba Todua's advocate, is preparing an appeal against the decision of the Tbilisi City Court at the Court of Appeal.
In his turn, Mate Harchamadze, the advocate of Irakli Akhalaya and Ruslan Shamakhiya, the criminal case has no evidence against his clients, the "InterpressNews" reports.
The other six defendants do not intend to challenge the measure of restraint of their freedom, the "Georgia-Online" reports.
The lawyer Khvicha Khevchuriani, who is representing the interests of Georgiy Buliya, an accused ex-employee of the Ministry of Defence, said that his client had pled guilty.
