In Stavropol, prisoners' relatives report about restrictions on reception of foodstuffs, while UFSIN states these restrictions are seasonal
Relatives of the prisoners, who serve their sentences at Correction Colony No. 11 (IK-11), located in Stavropol, complain about the restrictions imposed on foodstuff parcels. However, the press service of the Department of the Russian Penitentiary Service (UFSIN) for the StavropolTerritory asserts that such restrictions are introduced every year in the summer and help in preventing outbreaks of infectious diseases.
A relative of one of the prisoners of IK-11 of the Stavropol Territory, who has been kept there for three years, said that last week most of the foodstuffs she wanted to hand over to the prisoner were rejected.
"I understand that they ban to deliver meat and dairy products, but now they refuse to accept even fruits, pastries, homemade sausage and other food. They explained the ban by instructions received by the sanitary control," a mother of a prisoner, who introduced herself as Aminat, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
Magomed, a relative of another prisoner, who is serving his sentence at IK-11, also said that prisoners complain of poor nutrition and even plan to go on a hunger strike. However, he could not specify and date of the start of the action.
