In Armenia, health condition of hunger-striking presidential candidate Andreas Gukasyan worsens

Andreas Gukasyan, a presidential candidate and director of the "Radio-I", who is on a hunger strike, has health problems. Doctors have fixed low blood tension – 80/40, said Armen Grigoryan, a member of his election office.

On January 15, Andreas Gukasyan demanded to remove the candidate of the ruling Republican Party of Armenia, the incumbent President Serzh Sargsyan from the election; otherwise he would go on a hunger strike. After the refusal of the Central Election Commission (CEC) to fulfil his demand, on January 21 he went on a hunger strike in front of the National Academy of Sciences of Armenia.

According to Grigoryan, despite the state of health and medics' calls to suspend the hunger strike, Andreas Gukasyan decided to continue it, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.
