In Armenia, figurant in case of explosion of balloons sentenced to conditional imprisonment

In Armenia, Serop Bozoyan, who was sentenced to one year of imprisonment in the case of the explosion of balloons at Republic's Square, was sentenced to conditional imprisonment.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on May 4, 2012, at Republic's Square in Yerevan, an explosion of balloons occurred. 154 persons were injured. On October 17, 2012, Serop Bozoyan was sentenced to one year of imprisonment. Being under recognizance not to leave, he has challenged the verdict.

On February 7, the Court of Appeal partially granted the appeal of the convict.

During the trial, the advocate of Serop Bozoyan said that his client suffered from cancer and that his nine-year-old son also had health problems, the agency "News-Armenia" reports with reference to the General Prosecutor's Office.
