Presidential candidate Aram Airutyunyan claims self-disqualification

Aram Airutyunyan, an Armenian presidential candidate, the leader of the "National Accord" Party, has presented to the Central Election Commission (CEC) an application for self-disqualification. This was reported by the press service of the CEC.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on February 7, Aram Airutyunyan went on a hunger strike in front of the CEC's building. He has stated that he wants to pass to the public the information about the illegitimacy of the election.

Together with filing his application, Aram Airutyunyan has stopped his hunger strike. "That was a one-day hunger strike. During that day, I was approached by many people, members of parties and non-partisans who thanked me for my desire to change the country for the better," Aram Airutyunyan told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
