Dmitry Kozak: no violations of migrants' rights fixed at Sochi construction sites

Representatives of the Russian government and the administration of Sochi believe that violations of the rights of migrant workers that were reported by the human rights organization "Human Rights Watch" (HRW) do not take place at the construction sites of Olympic facilities.

According to the opinion of the City Mayor, only some individual cases of violations could be reported.

"I would say that we have been contacted twice during that time. Therefore, I am not aware about massive violations of labour laws," the STRC (State TV and Radio Company) "Sochi" quotes Anatoly Pakhomov as saying.

A similar statement was made by Dmitry Kozak, Deputy Prime Minister.

"If somewhere there are facts like that, and they cannot be in such an amount of construction works, they are not widespread. We have not received such large-scale complaints that would deserve international report. If such facts were massive, I would have definitely known about them," the RIA "Novosti" quotes Dmitry Kozak as saying.
