UCF delegates express concern about pressure on rights defenders in Russia
The "United Caucasian Forum" (UCF), which was held June 24-25 in Grozny, ended its work with a resolution: the forum participants expressed their concern about the pressure on human rights organizations in the Russian Federation, and added their final resolution with an appeals related to human rights violation by law enforcers and the problems of housing for refugees, said Kheda Saratova, a board member of the UCF.
"Today, we summed up the work, including the provisions of the draft resolution of the forum. The draft resolution was adopted unanimously," Kheda Saratova said.
It is planned that the text of the resolution of the forum will be presented not only to the heads of the republics of Northern Caucasus, but also brought to the knowledge of the country's leadership. "We plan to appeal to Russian leaders, and personally to President Vladimir Putin," Nelya Radjabova, a member of the UCF and a deputy chairman of the Public Council of the Department for Dagestan of the Russian FSIN (Federal Penitentiary Service), told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
According to her story, the adopted resolution covers the issues relating to the pressure on human rights organizations in Russia, in particular, the situation around the Movement "For Human Rights".
