Police report on prevention of terror act in Kabardino-Balkaria
In an apartment in Nalchik, policemen found components for making improvised explosive devices (IEDs). The man who rented the apartment, was detained, said the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of Kabardino-Balkaria.
The sanctioned inspection of the apartment was carried out by power agents in Kollontai Street in Nalchik, which was hired by a 27-year-old resident of the village of Zalukokoazhe.
The man was detained; and a criminal case was opened against him under Part 1, Article 222 (illegal purchase, possession of weapons, ammunition, explosives and explosive devices), of the Russian Criminal Code.
The items found in the apartment included two TNT blocks, a cap with blasting detonators, a charged magazine from a Kalashnikov, 44 rounds of ammunition for the Kalashnikov machine gun.
All the confiscated items have been sent to the Forensic Centre of the MIA of Kabardino-Balkaria, the MIA's website says and emphasizes that the policemen had prevented another terror act.
