Paruir Airikyan, Armenian presidential candidate, hospitalized again

Paruir Airikyan, an Armenian presidential candidate, who suffered from an attempt on him, was brought to the hospital again because of deterioration of his health state. This was reported by his nephew Vrezh Zatikyan.

According his story, Paruir Airikyan felt bad yesterday, on February 13. A ward was prepared for him at the medical centre "Surb Grigor Lusavovich"; however, he refused to be hospitalized and invited physicians to his house, the "NEWS.am" reports.

"Because of the long pre-election campaign trips, I felt bad at night of February 13. Constant ache in the area from where the bullets had been removed was unbearable, and even strong painkillers did not help," the "Gazeta.Ru" quotes Paruir Airikyan as saying.

At present, all pre-election trips of Paruir Airikyan have been cancelled. According to his story, the attempt "actually knocked him out of the pre-election race".

However, according to the opinion of Armen Khanoyan, Senior Surgeon, the health stated of the Armenian presidential candidate is not under threat. "We carried out a preventive examination, the need for which was caused by the fact that Paruir Airikyan is at the stage of rehabilitation," the "News-Armenia" quotes Armen Khanoyan as saying.
