Dagestani court refuses to extend arrest of suspect of illegal weapon possession

Today, the Soviet District Court of Makhachkala was to consider extending the period of detention in custody for Murad Shuaibov, suspected of illegal possession of weapon. Judge refused to extend the arrest.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the detention of Murad Shuaibov was reported by his mother. According to her, on December 20, 2012, he was detained on suspicion of illegal possession of a gas pistol, converted to fire with live rounds. The woman believes that the weapon was planted to her son.

Advocate Adilgerei Omarov has emphasized that the arrest of Murad Shuaibov expired today.

According to advocate Sapiyat Magomedova's story, upon beginning of the trial, it became clear that Murad Shuaibov was not brought to the court session. "At the session, the Judge read out the fact that came to the court office from the Investigating Department for the North-Caucasian and Southern Federal Districts, which stated that the suspect Murad Shuaibov could not be brought to the court, since on that day he was involved in the investigating actions," the advocate said.

Judge Yakubova refused to extend the period of detention in custody for Murad Shuaibov. "If the suspect is not brought to the court session, the court refuses to grant such a motion," the "Caucasian Knot" was explained at the Soviet District Court.

Sapiyat Magomedova has stated that the advocates are not aware of the whereabouts of their client.
