Poor residents of Georgia hold protest action at State Chancellery in Tbilisi

Socially vulnerable residents of Tbilisi held a protest action at the State Chancellery. The action lasted two hours and ended with expulsion of its participants from the building by the police.

The protest action was attended by about 20 persons who live in the former building of the railway hospital occupied by them. On February 19, they broke into the State Chancellery and demanded to legalize their accommodation at the hospital building or to provide them with other premises in Tbilisi.

They were in the building for about two hours, and after that they were expelled by policemen who used force, the "Georgia Online" reports.

Later, the socially vulnerable persons tried to block traffic to the business centre of Prime Minister Bidzina Ivanishvili, where he lives with his family members. However, the police also blocked their way to the building, the "Tbilisi Week" reports.
