Magomedova: no decision made so far in Dagestan on threats to lawyers
The Dagestani law enforcement bodies have not yet taken a procedural decision on the application of the lawyers Sapiyat Magomedova and Musa Suslanov, who had reported about received threats with demands to refuse to represent the interests of the relatives of Gamzatov brothers, killed in Kizlyar, said Magomedova.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Sapiyat Magomedova and Musa Suslanov stated about received threats in early June. On June 3, they sent an appeal to Alexander Bastrykin, the head of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) with a request to take the resonant case under control; they also turned to the ICRF and the department of the ICRF for Dagestan.
So far, no procedural decision has been made by inquiry bodies of the local MIA, said Sapiyat Magomedova.
"No results have been reported so far; they say that a check is underway," Sapiyat Magomedova said in her interview to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of Dagestan, which the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent turned for comments, did not disclose the date of making decision.
Meanwhile, as stated by Jamal Aliev, a lawyer of the Dagestani Bar, the term for a check of information regarding a crime is three days.
