Issues of encroachment on human honour and rights to be discussed by conference scheduled in Ingushetia

On June 29, the city of Magas will hold a conference against encroachment on human honour and rights, which will be organized by the republic's administration and Muftiate. One of the topics to be discussed at the forum will be the issue of bride abduction. In particular, the conference is planned to raise the issue of fines, which are expected to be imposed for bride abduction.

The conference participants want to appeal to citizens of the republic, in which the elders will condemn the actions of the young people, encroaching on human honour and rights. Besides, the conference will appeal to the local parliament asking to establish a fine of one million roubles for the bride abduction, the "Izvestia" reported on June 27, referring to Alikhan Nalgiev, the head of department on ethnic and religious relations of the office of the Ingush leader.

According to preliminary data, the event will bring together over a thousand people, including members of law enforcement bodies, the Ingush government and spiritual leaders. The head of the republic Yunus-Bek Evkurov also promised to come, the "Echo of the Caucasus" reports.
