Businessman's house blown up in Khasavyurt
At night on June 29, in the Dagestani city of Khasavyurt, four unidentified masked men armed with submachine guns blew up the house of a businessman; nobody suffered in the incident, the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of Dagestan reports.
The house was blown up with a bomb having power of about 40 kilograms of TNT (trotyl) equivalent.
The blasters then fled in a car. People were not hurt, but the household received significant damage. The city has launched the operation plan "Vulcan-4", the website of the MIA of Dagestan has reported.
According to the spokesman of the MIA, after the incident the whole police of Khasavyurt were alerted.
"Prior to blow up the house, the attackers had brought the businessman and his family out of the house at gunpoint. It was a sort of intimidation act," said the source.
According to his story, the house belongs to Kazbek Alkhamatov, a nephew of the former head of the Khasavyurt District Alim Alkhamatov, who was killed in 2009 inMoscow, the RIA "Novosti" reports.
The owner of the blown-up house gave no comments on the MIA's statement.
