Mayor of Karachaevsk put on federal wanted list
Soltan Semyonov, the incumbent Mayor of Karachaevsk, was put on the wanted list, Sergey Shuvaev, Senior Assistant to the Head of the Investigating Department for Karachay-Cherkessia of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF), told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
According to the spokesman of the ICRF, the Mayor Soltan Semyonov is searched, because he failed to appear at the investigating actions appointed by the investigator.
A case was opened against Soltan Semyonov on misuse of budget funds allotted to modernization of the education system and repair of roads. In the words of the Mayor, the money on the educational programme was used for its intended purpose, while the funds for repair of roads had been used to pay salaries to municipal employees under the decision of the City Duma; and the roads had been still repaired.
According to Sergey Shuvaev, law enforcement bodies were ordered to find Semyonov and bring him by force to the ICRF "for carrying out urgent investigative actions involving the Mayor."
