Raffi Ovannisyan calls to fight for revision of outcomes of presidential election in Armenia

An opposition rally was held in Yerevan, in Freedom Square, where Raffi Ovannisyan, an ex-presidential candidate and the current leader of the "Heritage" Party, called the audience to fight to the end for their rights and for return of "stolen votes at the election."

The former presidential candidate Andreas Gukasyan said that the recent presidential election showed that "Armenia can not be regarded a fair state." "We need to bring to the consciousness of the ruling party that the announcement of the final results will indicate a start of civil disobedience and a start of the end of the current authorities," he said.

Armen Rustamyan, a member of the Supreme Body of the ARFD (Armenian Revolutionary Federation "Dashnaktsutyun"), has emphasized that "the people have proved on February 18 that they cannot be broken, and they would no longer tolerate the stifling atmosphere prevailing in all spheres of life."

There were no policemen in Freedom Square; they were standing nearby and did not intervene in the course of the rally, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.
