Court decision on Targamadze's arrest in absentia sent to police for organizing his international search
The decision of the Basmanny Court of Moscow to arrest the Georgia's MP Givi Targamadze in absentia has been directed to the police in order to organize his international search, said Vladimir Markin, the spokesman of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF).
Targamadze was arrested in absentia on February 21 on suspicion of preparing mass riots in Russia. On March 1, Targamadze was put on the international wanted list; and he stated that he refused to consider himself guilty.
Mr Markin has emphasized that the criminal case and prosecution of Targamadze have no political context.
"Once again I declare that the ICRF is outside politics," Vladimir Markin told the "Interfax".
"No decision of a Russian court is an obstacle to my travels," "The First Georgian Radio" quotes Mr Targamadze as saying.
Earlier it was reported that Targamadze is now in Kutaisi, participating in the work of parliamentary committees.
