A group of students in Armenia is boycotting classes demanding to overturn the results of the presidential election

Today several hundred students in Yerevan boycotting classes organized an action of protest against the results of the presidential election in Armenia.

The students’ protest action began today in front of the main building of Yerevan State University after which the participants started a round of all the institutions of higher education of Yerevan. The activists coordinated their actions on the Facebook social network, the “Caucasian Knot” correspondent reports.

The protesters declare their intention to hold an open-ended boycotting classes until the presidential election is acknowledged forged. All in all, several hundred students are boycotting classes, ArmInfo reports.

Leader of “Nasledie” party Raffi Ovannisyan met the students near the Agrarian University. He thanked the protesters for their “spontaneous protest action” and called for them to go on striving for fair election, Panorama.am reports.

“The young are free in their political preferences and views but I think in should not be harmful to their education”, Arminfo quotes Minister of Education and Science of Armenia Armen Ashotyan.
