Candidates for presidency of Armenia demanded from the authorities to make the electoral rolls public

Today candidates for presidency of Armenia Grant Bagratyan, Raffi Ovannisyan and Paruir Airikyan issued a statement demanding from the authorities to produce the register of electors who left the country in order to avoid the use of their votes at the election of Head of the state.

“The candidates for presidency must secure that there would be no use of administrative intervention or pressure on employees of some spheres, such as servicemen, physicians, teachers and policemen. Any attempt of falsification of the election will be considered an anti-constitutional activities”, the statement runs.
In the opinion of candidate for presidency Arman Melikyan, the three candidates’ statement is a “significant contribution into our common cause”.

Melikyan added that in his final statement on the presidential election of 2008 he did not acknowledge it legitimate for the reason that votes of about 500 thousand electors who were beyond the bounds of Armenia could possibly be used in favour of the winning candidate from the authorities Serzh Sargsyan.
