Peskov: ex-Head of Dagestan will manage interethnic relations

Ex-Head of Dagestan Magomedsalam Magomedov in his new official position will manage interethnic relations, Press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov informed.

Earlier, the “Caucasian Knot” reported that on January, 28, President of Russia Vladimir Putin accepted the resignation of Head of Dagestan Magomedsalam Magomedov. On the same day upon the President’s decree deputy of State Duma of VI convocation from “United Russia” party Ramazan Abdulatipov was appointed official acting as Head of the republic.

“Magomedsalam Magomedov will head the section of interethnic relations functioning within the framework of Department of Inner Policy with the President”, “Interfax” quotes Press Secretary of Head of the state Dmitry Peskov.

Deputy Head of the Administration Viacheslav Volodin will remain in the lead of the Department, RIA “Novosti” reports.

On January, 28, representatives of the Department themselves declined comment on Magomedsalam Magomedov’s future sphere of authority because its distribution depends on the President and Head of his Administration, “Commersant” reports.
