Deputy of Volgograd regional Duma Sergey Popov stopped hunger strike
The Government of Volgograd region started taking active steps to settle the situation with housing and communal services, therefore I stopped my hunger strike, Deputy of regional Duma Sergey Popov informed today.
On January, 29, a session of regional Duma was upset by a group of deputies who left the building of the Parliament during a report on the situation in the sphere of housing and communal services. On January, 30, the Deputy of regional Duma and Chairman of the Board of “Volgograd Consumers Union” Sergey Popov went on a hunger strike as a sign of protest.
Popov reported that a counsel of a conciliation commission with the participation of Chairman of Volgograd regional Government Konstantin Khramov was held today. “A draft of a governmental regulation was introduced according to which the standards of the use of cold (hot) water on common housing needs would be reduced by over 40% as well as the standards of the use of housing and communal services”, the Deputy said.
“A resolution of creating an integrated state calculation center with the functions of an operator of household running costs in the region was discussed. Management companies will be left out of the payment “chain” which will allow to reduce the extent of swindling in settlement of accounts with the population”, he explained.
