Khadjalmakhi villagers state pogroms and marauding in their houses
Residents of the village of Khadjalmakhi, Levashin District of Dagestan, report that late in the evening on June 1 unidentified persons unlawfully entered empty households, made pogroms and looted some of the houses.
"I had to leave the village, because we had been treated as Wahhabis; and blatant threats of murder were addressed to us," one of the victims, who asked not to be named, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
According to his story, his house and houses of other gone villagers were occupied by armed men, who broke down the doors and windows, smashed furniture and took away all the valuables. He could not specify the exact number of looted houses.
In her turn, Fatima Ubaidatova, the head of the Information and Public Relations Division of the Dagestani MIA, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that nobody had complained about pogroms and looting in Khadjalmakhi.
Let us remind you that on June 30, a car with Arthur Zakharyan, an adviser to the Permanent Representative of Dagestan at the Russian President, was shelled in Khadjalmakhi. Ruslan Magomedov, an employee of the "RusHydro" Company, was wounded by shelling. A member of the local volunteer militia is suspected of delivering the fire; he was detained.
