Trial on espionage in Nagorno-Karabakh postponed because of defendant's epileptic attack
Today, during the court session on the case on espionage in Nagorno-Karabakh, defendant David Barsegyan got an attack of epilepsy. The court made the decision to adjourn the court session for July 4.
Let us remind you that the trial on the case on espionage was started in Stepanakert on June 25. The defendants are Rafael Avagyan and David Barsegyan, residents of Stepanakert, students of the "Mesrop Mashtots" University.
At the court session held on July 3, there were no doctors at the courtroom, and the defendant's medicines were left at the detention centre in the city of Shushi. Security officers and advocates provided David Barsegyan with the necessary first aid, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.
"In my personal opinion, the Judge has already been familiar with the case, and he knew that my defendant suffers from epilepsy, and, thus, the Judge was to postpone the trial," the advocate has stated. The advocate withheld other comments in relation to the causes of the incident and the actions of the Judge.
Emergency ambulance did not come to the court. Relatives and friends of David Barsegyan do not know where David was brought to the hospital or to the detention centre in Shushi, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.
The next court session is scheduled for July 4, 10:00 a.m.
