Rizvan Yakubov, detained in Dagestan, was beaten by law enforcers, his advocate asserts
Rizvan Yakubov, a resident of Khasavyurt, who was detained this morning, was brought out of the building of the Centre for Combating Extremism to the ROVD (District Interior Division). This was reported by Sapiyat Magomedova, his advocate. According to her information, law enforcers beat Rizvan Yakubov, and Sapiyat Magomedova herself is not allowed to visit him.
"Policemen demand to change for their needs the explanatory letter of Rizvan Yakubov, which he wrote after his delivery to the ROVD," Sapiyat Magomedova told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent. The policemen told her that Rizvan Yakubov was detained for aiding and abetting militants. Meanwhile, no protocol was drawn up after the detention.
According to the story of Rizvan Yakubov's family members, after his detention, about 150-200 persons blocked the highway Khasavyurt-Makhachkala demanding to release Rizvan. Then, according to their story, the place of the protest action was approached by special squad of power agents, who dispersed the protesters and detained several persons.
Sapiyat Magomedova has emphasized that people beaten by policemen who dispersed the crowd blocking the highway got injuries of varying severity.
