Mark Kruter: Said Amirov's defence to seek his transfer to specialized hospital
After the refusal of the court to change the pre-trial restriction measure to Said Amirov, the defence will seek for his transfer from SIZO (pre-trial prison) to a specialized hospital. This was reported by advocate Mark Kruter. Lawyers and political scientists, who keep watch over the case against Said Amirov, believe that the chance to change the pre-trial restriction measure to the dismissed Mayor of the capital of Dagestan is very small.
Let us remind you that on July 3, the Moscow City Court upheld the arrest of Said Amirov, who was temporarily suspended from the position of the Mayor of Makhachkala, and dismissed the motion filed by his advocate to assign e pre-trial restriction measure not related to the detention at the SIZO. The decision of the Basmanny Court that took Said Amirov in custody till August 1 has entered into force.
Advocate Mark Kruter has reminded that in the course of the court session, the court granted the defence's motion to attach the medical documents to the case.
"Following the analysis of the submitted documents and medical history, the forensic examiner has concluded that further keeping of Said Amirov at the SIZO could be fatal for him," the advocate told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
Meanwhile, Yuri Nikolaev, Chairman of the Moscow Advocates' Chamber "Nikolaev and Partners" has clarified that the release of people with disabilities from detention is very rare in practice.
In his turn, Gleb Pavlovsky, Director of the Effective Policy Foundation, has emphasized that in Said Amirov's case the accusation of having committed a serious crime is in question.
