Health of hunger-strikers at "Promzhilbaza" in Ingushetia deteriorated, protesters assert
Health state of persons who went on hunger strike at the temporary accommodation centre (TAC) "Promzhilbaza" in Karabulak deteriorates. This was reported by a woman, who took part in the hunger strike. Human rights activists, who visited women on hunger strike, have proposed to stop the protest action and to use the legal ways to solve the problem in each specific case.
According to the decision of the Karabulak City Court, 35 residents of the TAC "Promzhilbaza" are to be evicted. On July 1, ten local residents went on hunger strike, demanding to issue housing certificates to all families of immigrants living at the TAC. On July 2, the number of hunger-strikers reduced to nine persons.
On July 4, bailiffs began to dismantle the building of the temporary accommodation centre "Promzhilbaza" in Karabulak. Despite the fact that the building inhabited by immigrants is dilapidated, at present, no one is going to evict them. This was told to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent by a representative of the Karabulak administration.
On July 4, Timur Akiev, the head of the Nazran Office of the Human Rights Centre (HRC) "Memorial", and representatives of the Ombudsman's Office in Ingushetia visited the TAC "Promzhilbaza".
"The second floor of the dilapidated building was completely released. Those persons who lived on the second floor were transferred to other buildings," Timur Akiev told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent about the process of relocation of residents of the TAC. According to his story, the human rights activists were persuading women to stop their hunger strike.
Let us remind you that the families of forced migrants in question were not put on the consolidated list because they had failed to timely submit the package of required documents, the Karabulak administration has explained.
