In Krasnodar Territory, eighty persons injured as passenger train derails
Today, in the Krasnodar Territory, five wagons of passenger train No. 140 "Novosibirsk-Adler" got derailed. According to the preliminary data, 80 persons were injured.
According to the information of the Regional Department of Public Health, at present, all the victims have been evacuated. Six of them were hospitalized, and the others received medical treatment in the place and were brought by buses to the nearest town, the "Interfax" reports.
The train accident occurred on the interval of Kislyakovka-Krylovskaya at 4:45 p.m. Moscow time. According to the preliminary data, five wagons are inclined. The traffic on the interval was not interrupted, the website of the "Russian Railways" emphasizes.
At present, the cause of the accident is under investigation. A deformation of rail track because of the heat could become the probable reason for derailment of the wagons, the RIA "Novosti" quotes the spokesperson of the press centre of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) as saying.
It should be noted that during this month, this is the second passenger train accident occurred in the Krasnodar Territory. The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on July 2, the passenger train No. 680 "Vladikavkaz-Adler" crashed into descended mudflow on the interval Shepsi-Adler in the Krasnodar Territory. No one was injured; however, traffic was suspended on that section of the rail track.
