Krymsk holds civil actions to pay tribute to memory of flood victims

The city of Krymsk, which exactly a year ago suffered from the flooding, hosted a series of mourning events. After the official events, the city held the civil action, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondents report.

The official events began at 06:00 p.m. in the square in front of the children's hospital in the city centre, where a monument to the victims of the flooding was opened.

The ceremony of opening of the monument was attended by Alexander Tkachov, Governor of the KrasnodarTerritory, Feognost, Bishop of Novorossiysk and Gelendzhik, and representatives of the Ministry for Emergencies (MfE) and the Cossacks. In total, the square gathered about 2000 persons, and most of them were participants of delegations from the cities and districts of the region. The official part of the event lasted about an hour, and people laid flowers and wreaths at the monument and lit candles.

At 11:00 p.m., in Adagumskaya Street, where the volunteer headquarters was located in the first days after the tragedy, the civil action was held, which was organized by regional branch of the "Yabloko" Party and NGO activists.

As at 0:20 a.m. Moscow time, during the civil actions that were conducted unsanctioned with the local authorities, no conflicts occurred between the participants of the actions and policemen and staff members of the administration.

Let us also remind you that in October 2012, Krasnodar installed "Monument of sorrow" to pay tribute to the memory of the victims of the disasters of July 2012 and of March 2011 in Japan.
