Dagestani court rules to arrest Bagautdinova, Magomedov and Ilyasov
Today, the Sovietsky Court of Makhachkala has ruled to arrest Zarema Bagautdinova, an activist of the Dagestani Regional Public Organization (DRPO) "Pravozaschita" (Advocacy), and residents of Buynaksk Shamil Magomedov and Danyal Ilyasov for two months.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Zarema Bagautdinova was detained on July 4 in Buynaksk. According to her advocate Abdula Gaziev, she was detained based on the testimonies of two detained residents Buynaksk - Shamil Magomedov and Danyal Ilyasov, in whose houses firearms and grenades were found.
"In respect of Bagautdinova investigators applied a strange formulation about her alleged involvement in illegal armed formations (IAFs): that she, while working for a human rights organization, gave distorted information to mass media. What has it to do with IAFs? If anything untrue is published in mass media, then the author can be made responsible for libel, but not for the cooperation with IAFs," said Abdula Gaziev. He intends to appeal against the arrest of his client.
Meanwhile, according to a source from investigative bodies of Dagestan, Magomedov and Ilyasov and charged with aiding members of the terrorist grouping "Buynakskaya" commanded by Bammatkhan Sheikhov.
