Year after flood: Krymsk residents claim non-receipt of compensations
One year after the flood, the affected residents of the city of Krymsk state that they have no received their due compensations for damaged and destroyed houses. Still, about 200 people have not received their compensations, the head of the Krymsk District had to admit.
The flood in the Krasnodar Territory on July 6-7, 2012, affected mostly the Krymsk District, where, according to the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) 153 persons perished. Around 29,000 residents lost their property completely, and 5500 more lost part of their property.
Thus, Svetlana Mernaya, a resident of Krymsk, states that she received no compensation for the house completely destroyed during the flood. According to the woman, she owned one-third of the residential building, which she had inherited from her father.
"The authorities had refused to pay compensation to me, because I was not registered in the house," she explained to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
Meanwhile, Anatoly Razumeev, the head of the Krymsk District, has confirmed that there are delays with payment of compensations.
"About 200 people have not yet received their payments; mainly those citizens who submitted their documents based on court decisions. And, of course, the judicial procedure itself requires a certain amount of time," the "Komsomolskaya Pravda" quotes Razumeev as saying.
The head of the district has added that the governor of the Krasnodar Territory had put the task to pay compensations to all those, who have the right to receive them, within this week.
